VBN Components, Uppsala, Sweden, has appointed Magnus Bergman as its new CEO. Bergman has a master’s degree in Materials Science from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, and has held several roles within the Sandvik Group with a focus on R&D, international sales and management. He is also said to have broad experience in the heat treatment and machinery industries.

“It is a fantastic opportunity to work with VBN Components which is truly at the forefront of advanced materials development and Additive Manufacturing for a global market,” stated Bergman. “Being able to combine world-leading material technology with international sales, and management of VBN Components’ motivated team is a dream assignment for a market-driven leader with a material science background.”

VBN Components’ additively manufactured Vibenite® alloys are developed for components in demanding industrial applications, so Bergman’s experience in materials and business development is noted as fitting well with the company’s international progress.
