Miba continues innovating with 32 new patents and €44 million R&D spend

Having submitted thirty-two new patent applications in 2022, Miba AG, Laakirchen, Austria, has been ranked as one of the top three Austrian companies for patent submissions. In the Upper Austria region, the technology company is the innovation leader, repeating its position from 2021.

In the past business year alone, Miba has invested €44 million in Research & Development, accounting for around a 4% share of sales. The company has also recently been awarded the Upper Austrian State Prize for Innovation.

The company’s focus has been on energy efficiency since 2013: Miba products are designed to make the generation, transmission, storage and use of energy more efficient and thus more sustainable and climate-friendly.

“Every day, we work on making a contribution to a cleaner planet and thus to an even more livable world with our products,” stated F Peter Mitterbauer CEO.

The Miba group of companies employs a total of around 300 people in R&D, and additional colleagues are constantly being sought.
