Following on from the success of its 2018 event, MAPP (Manufacturing using Advanced Powder Processes), the EPSRC Future Manufacturing Hub led by the University of Sheffield, will hold its second international conference at Milton Hill House, Abingdon, Oxford, UK, on June 1–2, 2020.

The conference will bring together key international decision-makers from across the powder design, processing and manufacturing sector, as well as early-career academics comprising 180 senior academics, researchers and industry professionals. Attendees are welcome from sectors including suppliers to the fields of materials science, automatic control and systems engineering and mechanical engineering, with a particular focus on powder materials, advanced in-situ process monitoring and characterisation, or new approaches in modelling and control.

The two-day event will focus on three key themes including:

  • Right first time manufacturing and future manufacturing technologies
  • From in-process monitoring and control to in-service prediction and performance
  • Tailored properties for enhanced product performance

The 2018 edition event attracted delegates and speakers from America, France, Germany, Spain and across the UK, with representatives from over thirty-five companies and twenty universities. Confirmed keynote speakers for the second international conference include:

  • Prof Helena Van Swygenhoven, EPFL
  • Dr Aaron Stebner, Colorado School of Mines
  • Dr Katy Milne, MTC
  • Dr Iuliia Elizarova, Imperial College
  • Prof Richard Todd, University of Oxford

In addition to the conference sessions, there will also be a conference dinner, a pre-dinner reception and an evening drinks reception, the latter of which is sponsored by Metal AM magazine.

Further information and registration details are available via the event website.
