The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) is seeking speakers for its popular Functional Materials Seminar, taking place online June 1–2. This year’s seminar will cover the powder-based functional materials that are currently, or likely to be, used in the energy sector.

With the ever-increasing push towards greener energy production and distribution, functional materials can be a key field of innovation, having the potential to bring even higher efficiencies in all relevant processes, while offering advantages in terms of environmental impact at all levels.

The application of PM functional materials in the energy sector includes materials used in raw materials refining, energy production, energy storage and transportation, etc. Catalysers, high temperature, radiation shielding, heat exchangers, energy storage (including hydrogen and solid-state batteries), electrical materials, semi- and superconductors, are all possible candidates for discussion in the seminar.

All submitted proposals will be evaluated by the EuroFM Steering Committee, taking into account that priority will be given to:

  • Speeches from industrial end users highlighting actual commercial applications
  • Speeches describing the output of tight collaborations between industry and RTD performers
  • Speeches with high degree of novelty

The deadline for speaker applications is January 30, 2021. For further details contact Bruno Vicenzi:
