The Wallwork HIP Centre, located in Bury, Greater Manchester, UK, has passed EN/AS9100 certification for its new Hot Isostatic Pressing process. Installed and commissioned by Quintus Technologies, Västerås, Sweden, in the last quarter of 2023, the HIP is now entering its fourth month of operation.

“Preparing for the audit has been a massive effort by all the team. I extend a personal thank you to all those involved in the process of adding Hot Isostatic Pressing to the extensive scope of Wallwork Bury’s AS9100 approvals. I know they will continue to ensure that the highest quality standards are adhered to on a daily basis,” shared David Loughlin, Wallwork HIP Centre, Business Manager.

The Aerospace Quality Management System AS9100 certification provides customers from a range of industries with the highest assurance about the systems in place to ensure Wallwork HIP Centre will meet their requirements.

“With additive manufactured components playing an increasingly vital role in aerospace, demand for Hot Isostatic Pressing is rising rapidly. Adding the second HIP, recently announced, means we will be in front of the curve and ready to provide the high service standards expected by aerospace and all other manufacturers,” Loughlin continued.

The Wallwork HIP Centre is wholly integrated with Wallwork Group’s dedicated national transport systems for fast pick-up and delivery. This helps assure aerospace component manufacturers of total end-to-end responsibility for their components.
