The SACMI Group, headquartered in Imola, Italy, has announced the appointment of Mauro Fenzi as its General Manager. Fenzi will replace Giulio Mengoli, who is said to have left the company for personal reasons.

The president of the board of directors, Paolo Mongardi, informed the SACMI Members’ Assembly that the change in General Manager would take place “in such a way as to ensure continuity of strategic and operational corporate management”. He also thanked Mengoli for his valuable contribution to the company over the years.

Genoa-born Fenzi holds a degree in engineering from Milan Polytechnic and is reported to have wide-ranging experience in the field of industrial automation systems development. He has experience of working in Italy, the USA and France and, since 2014, has been at the helm of multinational groups.

From 2014 to 2019, Fenzi was CEO of industrial automation company COMAU, where he held various key positions since 2001. In January 2020, he became CEO of SOGEFI (a provider of automotive components). He has also held senior positions in other companies in the aerospace and petrochemical sectors.

“The drive to develop skills and strengthen technological leadership across the various business areas continues to underpin the overall strategy SACMI has pursued thus far, and is perfectly in line with the group’s international vocation,” concluded Mongardi.
