September 10, 2012
PVA TePla Group, which specialises in vacuum and high-temperature systems as well as crystallization systems for semiconductor and solar silicon, generated consolidated sales revenues of EUR 60.2 million in the first half of 2012 up from EUR 46.3 million in the same period of 2011. EBIT amounted to EUR 4.9 million (2011: EUR 3.6 million) and consolidated net income for the period totalled EUR 3.2 million (2011: EUR 2.4 million).
The Industrial Systems division increased its sales revenues slightly from EUR 24.2 million to EUR 26.0 million year-on-year, and the Semiconductor Systems division generated sales revenues of EUR 29.6 million (2011: EUR 17.2 million). The Solar Systems division posted sales of EUR 4.6 million (2011: EUR 4.8 million) due to the weak order situation.
Across almost all divisions, customers are currently showing considerable restraint in their investment decisions, stated the company. This was also true of the important Chinese market, where the company observed much lower demand for products in the first half of 2012.
