France’s Society for Metallurgy and Materials (SF2M) has announced that PMF2017 will be held at Toulouse University Paul Sabatier, in Toulouse, France, May 3-5, 2017. The three-day conference follows a series of events dedicated to Powder Metallurgy, the most recent being STPMF 2015 in Nancy, France.
Organised by the Powder Metallurgy Committee of SF2M, the event will feature presentations from leading industry innovators and professionals. The conference will cover themes ranging from metal powders to PM parts, experimental design, technological advancements and modelling. Topics will include:
- Production and characterisation of metal powders
- Powder forming: compaction, Hot Isostatic Pressing, lubricants, MIM / CIM
- Production of parts: sintering, liquid phase, laser, microwave, SPS
- Microstructures: sintered materials, control of the environment related to the use of powders
PMF2017 will also include a special session for students, with shorter presentations of around 10 minutes and an award for the best presentation. A Powder Metallurgy training day for technicians, engineers, young researchers and doctoral students will be held on May 2, prior to the main event.
