Plansee has announced it is expanding production capacity in South Korea following a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a new factory in Dongtan. The site is said to be close to a number of the company’s important key customers and is due to start operation at the end of 2016.

In an earlier announcement Plansee stated that it is investing ten million euros in the project. The company plans to bring its existing production and sales sites in Korea under one roof at the new facility.

“Above all, it is our customers in the display and semiconductor industries that will benefit from the increased capacity. The construction of our own facilities underscores our long-term commitment to Korea,” stated Bernhard Schretter, member of the Board of Directors at Plansee.
