New PM plant in Iran

Maad Sanat Company of Urumieh in the West Azarbaijan province of Iran, has invested over 80 billion rials over the past 5 years to establish a new plant for the production of structural PM parts and bearings.
Mr Shahab Karimi, managing director, stated in the Tehran Times (July 31, 2010) that initial plans for the company were laid down in 2005 and after completing its development plan the PM plant was officially inaugurated this year.
Maad Sanat, which is already ISO-TS 16949 and ISO 9001 accredited, operates powder compacting presses ranging from 6 to 500 tons, sizing presses from 20 to 250 tons, mesh belt conveyor and high temperature (1350C) pusher furnaces, and hardening and steam treatment furnaces. Production includes gearwheels, pump parts, bearings, flanges, parts for household appliances, agricultural and industrial machinery.
Iran has a growing automotive industry which produced 1.395 million vehicles in 2009.
