Spheric Technologies, Inc.of Phoenix, Arizona, has announced the appointment of Robert Desberg as Director of Sales and Marketing. Spheric Technologies markets the patented Spheric/Syno-Therm™ high-temperature microwave furnace range for the sintering of MIM (Metal Injection Moulding) and CIM (Ceramic Injection Moulding) products.

Company chairman Joseph Hines stated “Interest in our microwave furnace systems has been strong throughout the United States, Canada and Latin America. An experienced industry professional, Bob Desberg insures that we will effectively respond to our customers needs and significantly expand our sales and marketing program.”

Desberg spent the last 10 years with H.C. Starck, Inc., the global manufacturer of refractory metals and fabricated components for electronics, medical, aerospace and industrial markets. He has a B.S. degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science from Case Western Reserve University, and has done post-graduate work in business management, corporate finance, marketing, project management and contract law.

“Bob has tremendous depth in our field, including technical knowledge, real-world industrial experience and extensive personal contacts,” said Michael Kirksey, Spheric Technologies executive vice president and COO. “Bob will play an important role in building awareness of the benefits of Spheric/Syno-Therm systems, and generating sales for us across a wide range of industries.”

Spheric/Syno-Therm™ high-temperature industrial microwave furnaces are custom-manufactured by Syno-Therm Co., Ltd, China’s largest microwave furnace producer. Spheric Technologies is the exclusive distributor for Syno-Therm microwave equipment in the Western Hemisphere. The systems are used to sinter metal and ceramic powders, using 80% less energy in as little as a tenth of the time as conventional sintering furnaces. Spheric Technologies also offers sublicenses for microwave sintering based on technology patents developed by Penn State’s world-recognized Microwave Processing and Engineering Center.
