Metal Technology Co names Hideo Hatanaka as president

Metal Technology Co. Ltd (MTC), Tokyo, Japan, has named Hideo Hatanaka as the company’s president, General Manager of MTC’s Sales Division, and chairman. Formally General Manager of MTC’s Production Division, Hatanaka undertook the new positions on March 1, 2023.

The company also announced plans to establish a Strategy Management Division to work on organisational reform and the formulation of long-term strategies. “Under the new organisation, we will focus not only on harmony with our customers and society, which has always been important to us, but also on creating a place where our employees can work with vitality and grow,” the company stated.

“We believe that by doing so, we can improve our sustainability, provide more customer value, and ultimately contribute to society. We will continue to refine our technologies and work tirelessly to uphold our guiding management principle of caring about the environment and people.”

Hatanaka joined MTC in 1987 and was appointed Plant Manager of the Kanagawa, Gunma, and Ibaraki facilities in 2002. In 2010, he established Metal Technology (Suzhou) Co. Ltd in China, where he worked until 2016. Hatanaka returned to Japan and became the Deputy General Manager of MTC’s Production Division, before becoming General Manager in 2019.
