Klas Forsström appointed head of Sandvik Machining Solutions

Sandvik, Stockholm, Sweden has announced the appointment of Klas Forsström as President for Sandvik Machining Solutions and member of the group’s Executive Management.

Forsström, who has been with the Sandvik group for approximately 25 years, is currently the President of Sandvik Coromant, a supplier of metal cutting tools. He has previously held managerial positions in Dormer and Sandvik Hard Materials (today Sandvik Hyperion), and has lead the group in R&D, marketing, business development and sales.

 

Björn Rosengren, Sandvik’s President and CEO, stated, “I am pleased that Klas Forsström will take on this new role since he is a very skilled and experienced business leader, which he has proved during many successful years with among others Sandvik Coromant. Now he gets a responsibility to lead the entire development of Sandvik Machining Solutions.”

Forsström will take up the Presidency on April 1, 2017, and succeeds exiting company head Jonas Gustavsson. Sandvik reports that recruitment of a new Sandvik Coromant head is underway, and for the time being, Forsström remains in this position.
