Kennametal announces new Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa

Berting is the new Managing Director for
the EMEA region
Kennametal Inc. recently announced that Joost Berting has accepted the position of Managing Director at Kennametal Europe GmbH. Berting will be responsible for leading Kennametal’s business and representing the company in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Prior to joining Kennametal, Berting was Integration Director for Eastman Chemical Company. Previously, he held numerous business leadership positions at Eastman Chemical Company, including the Managing Director EMEA region. He has nearly 30 years of experience in engineering, technology, integrations and international business management and speaks six languages. Berting holds a bachelor’s degree in material science from Polytechnic Utrecht and a master’s degree in management from the European School of Management – Paris, Oxford and Berlin.
Berting will be based in the Kennametal EMEA Headquarters in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland and succeeds Gérald Goubau, who led Kennametal’s EMEA business for the past three years. Goubau will now lead the company’s global tooling business as vice president Kennametal Tooling.
