Höganäs AB, Sweden, has announced that its fourth annual global Safety Week commenced this week, with the intention of further increasing awareness on systems, rules and procedures which the company has implemented in an effort to create a safe workplace.

During Safety Week, a variety of activities take place at all of Höganäs’ sites around the world. Training courses, safety walks, revisions of work instructions, and safety talks are some of the examples of activities that will be carried out and all employees are encouraged to review their own and their colleagues’ work environments.

This year, as well as local activities, the company also announced a worldwide theme: the launch of Nine Life Saving Rules. This is intended to help clarify what is expected of everyone in order to be a part of building a strong safety culture.

“Even though safety is a natural part of our daily work, we hope that Safety Week will create additional awareness and contribute to concrete results in our strive for an improved safety culture,” stated Håkan Persson, Global Safety Manager Operations.
