GKN Sinter Metals receives four awards from automotive manufacturers in India

GKN Sinter Metals has announced it has won four awards from key customers in India, recognising commitment to development, quality and customer service. The company was awarded ‘Best Development Support’ from Advik, the ‘Gold Quality Award 2013’ from Endurance, ‘Best Supplier for Response to Development’ from Gabriel and a ‘Delivery Management Award 2013’ from Honda HMSI.

The ‘Best Development Support Award’ from Advik was won for the first time by GKN due to outstanding development efforts of applications for two-wheel oil pump rotors. GKN Sinter Metals is the world largest supplier of these products and reduced the development lead time by 50% for the customer.

Gold Quality Award 2013 from Endurance

Endurance, the world’s largest manufacturer of shock absorbers for two and three wheelers, awarded GKN Sinter Metals the ‘Gold Quality Award 2013’ for consistently supplying high quality products. GKN supplies parts for shock absorbers to Endurance, one of GKN’s top 10 customers in India.

Thirdly it received the award for ‘Best Supplier for Response to Development’ from Gabriel, a long-term customer in India. Gabriel also produces shock absorbers mainly for passenger cars and SUVs, and has been a customer of GKN in India for over 50 years.

The fourth accolade was received from Honda HMSI (Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.). The ‘Delivery Management Award 2013’ recognised GKN Sinter Metals for achieving all quality and delivery targets in the year. GKN has been a leading supplier for the last 14 years and supplies all three Honda plants in India. To date, GKN has supplied parts for more than ten million Honda scooters and motorcycles.

With more than 50 years of local experience, GKN Sinter Metals is an established supplier to automotive customers in India. GKN Sinter Metals’ share of the Powder Metallurgy market in India is reported to be more than 45% and the company currently employs a staff of 1,100 employees at facilities in Pune and Ahmednagar.
