European Conference on Heat treatment 2019 set to take place at Lake Garda

The Italian Association for Metallurgy (AIM), Milan, Italy, has announced that the European Conference on Heat Treatment (ECHT) 2019 will take place in Bardolino, Lake Garda, Italy, from June 5–7, 2019. Following the success of its 2015 conference in Venice, ECHT 2019 will focus on Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering for Automotive.

EHCT 2019 is a three-day conference which will also feature a table-top exhibition representing all areas of the industry with the latest equipment, facilities and instruments, products and services in the field of heat treatment and surface engineering.

The conference programme is expected to focus on the following topics:

  • Surface hardening (induction, laser)
  • Coating technology and coatings – Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), plasma, thermal spray
  • Design and construction of industrial heat treatment equipment
  • Equipment for measurement and process control
  • Quenching technology, equipment and quenchants
  • Residual stress and distortion
  • Environmental impact of heat treatment
  • Environmental aspects of surface engineering
  • Tribology and tribological testing methods
  • Wear and wear protection
  • Modelling and simulation of heat treatment and surface engineering related aspects
  • Reliability and process control
  • Cost analysis and reduction in manufacturing
  • Energy saving
  • Bulk heat treatment
  • Mechanical properties
