AMETEK Specialty Metal Products (SMP) is offering a range of high-purity sputtering target materials fabricated using its patented consolidation technology. AMETEK’s patented Pneumatic Isostatic Forging (PIF) process provides fine grain, homogenous, fully dense material with purity levels as high as 99.995%.

The target materials are available in a variety of shapes: planar targets up to 12 inches in diameter and up to two inches thick; 5-inch by 30-inch rectangular targets up to two inches thick; and cylindrical targets up to six inches in diameter and 30 inches in length. The AMETEK PIF process is ideally suited to provide such sputtering target materials as pure nickel, nickel-iron, cobalt, nickel-chrome and titanium alloys.

AMETEK SMP manufactures or consolidates a variety of metal alloys including stainless steels, nickel-based alloys, cobalt-based alloys, titanium and titanium alloys and master alloys. Along with sputtering targets, AMETEK SMP is a leader in metal powders, high purity strip, ultra thin metal foil, specialty wire, metal matrix composites, engineered shaped components and clad metal products with numerous patents in technically advanced metallurgical materials.
