The acquisition will allow Dave Turner and Tony Vaughn, who established the business 19  years ago, to continue to manage  Matlock Wire on a day to day basis. Matlock already supplies key names in the aerospace industry.

“Our momentum of growth at  AIMS is enhanced by this acquisition and we look to continue to grow our customer base at home and abroad. Matlock Wire will become the machining  centre for AIMS, enabling us to improve our production processes, which will enhance our customer service and shorten delivery times,” stated AIMS’ Technical Director Geoff Archer.

“We are delighted that Dave and Tony, who are true sector specialists, will join our team.  Together we will continue to seek fresh opportunities for our machining facility and invest in its capability, with a view to creating jobs locally.  In fact, we have already agreed to commission a new 4-axis milling machine for the business.”

With the capacity to mill, turn and machine metal components, Matlock Wire is also highly regarded for its wire eroding techniques.  These procedures will complement AIMS’ Powder Metallurgy business, providing customers with additional services.
