TAT Technologies announces three sintering courses
May 5, 2015
TAT Technologies has announced dates for three sintering courses taking place at its training centre in St Mary’s, Pennsylvania, USA.
To date some 90 students have attended the 14 classes organised since the programme began in October 2012, stated TAT Technologies. Students include sintering supervisors, process & product engineers, maintenance personnel, production managers, quality control personnel, plant managers, new engineers, safety personnel and those who are responsible for process cost savings. Classes are limited to a maximum of 10 students.
‘Preparation for Better Sintering’ will take place June 9-12 and August 18-21 2015. During the four day course students learn why high quality preparation before sintering is highly desirable and how it can be completely and efficiently achieved. Experiments will teach students how to develop the most effective temperature and atmosphere profiles to accomplish the desired high quality preparation of ferrous PM parts across a broad range of weights, shapes, densities up to 7g/cm3, and compositions.
‘Sintering – Ferrous PM’ runs from August 24-27, 2015. The course is primarily designed to empower students with solid practical production oriented knowledge of the conventional ferrous PM sintering process. Through a combination of classroom lectures, hands-on pre-designed experiments, interaction with the lecturer each day, small group team work, students will understand exactly what goes on inside a sintering furnace from beginning to end. In order to participate on this course students must first complete the above mentioned ‘Preparation for Better Sintering’ course.
