South Asia and China to lead surge in global vehicle production

CSM Worldwide, which provides automotive market forecasting services and strategic advisory solutions to the world’s top automotive manufacturers, suppliers and financial organizations, has updated its forecast summary for global light vehicle production to 2016.
The summary shows that South Asia and China will lead a surge in car and light vehicle production with increases of 119% and 89% respectively for the 7 years to 2016 compared with 2009. S. Asia and China will account for over 32 million light vehicles – just over a third of global production.
North American car and light vehicle production will also rebound states CSM with an increase of 83% in production forecast by 2016 compared with 2009; and a 40% increase for Europe in the same period. Global light vehicle production is forecast to increase from 57.440.4 million in 2009 to 93.001 million by 2016 – an increase of 61%.
