Solid Concepts, a rapid prototyping company headquartered in California, USA, has been awarded Northrop Grumman’s “Platinum Source Preferred Supplier”.
The award recognises Solid Concepts for achieving distinction in product quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and robust, lean processes. Such suppliers provide Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems with products ranging from aircraft parts and components to complex spacecraft electronic subsystems, as well as everyday services. Only 7% of Northrop’s suppliers achieve the Platinum level of Quality.
Solid Concepts provides rapid prototyping and custom manufacturing services using Stereolithography (SLA), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) and Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM), along with other processes.
“Northrop Grumman’s drive to provide quality products extends to our suppliers, which makes them indispensable teammates,” stated Art Lofton, Sector Vice President of Global Quality for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. “At Northrop Grumman, we like to say ‘quality is personal’ and these suppliers make it that way in the products and services they provide.”
