Solar Atmospheres Southeast receives ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100C certification

November 24, 2015

Solar Atmospheres Southeast, located in South Carolina, USA, has announced the successful completion of AS9100 / ISO 9001:2008 certification, an essential quality system standard for companies operating in the aerospace industry.

The AS9100 quality standard was established in 1999 from the desire of leading businesses and organisations in the aerospace and defence industries to identify quality suppliers. AS9100 encompasses the entire current version of ISO 9001, as well as specific requirements addressing well-known problems related to the aerospace sector.

Solar Atmospheres Southeast certification is the culmination of a five-month effort that was fast-tracked at the request of several current and prospective customers. With this assessment completed, all of Solar Atmospheres’ commercial vacuum heat treating and brazing facilities are now AS9100 registered.

“The successful certification of our South Carolina facility is a testament to our commitment to continual improvement, and to growing our business within the aerospace industry.  We are excited about the opportunities this certification will allow and the added confidence it provides to our customers,” stated Steve Prout, President of Solar Atmospheres Southeast.
