SMS Group announces managerial board changes for 2018

German-based SMS Group GmbH has announced that Harald Rackel will depart from his current position as Head of Digitalisation at SMS Group in March 2018 to join the Managing Board of group subsidiary elexis AG. As of July, 2018, he will replace Siegfried Koepp as elexis CEO.

Further, the company states that Dr -Ing Katja Windt will be appointed Managing Director of SMS Group effective April 1, 2018. As a member of the Managing Board, Windt will be responsible for the Digital Solutions and Electrical and Automation Systems Divisions.

Windt comes to SMS Group from Jacobs University Bremen, where she is said to have served as President of the University for several years, as well as specialising in Production Technology. In this role, she has been involved in the implementation of digitalisation and logistics projects for customers in the steel industry.
