SHW Group reports strong growth
January 17, 2012
SHW AG has announced record sales for 2011 following a strong performance in the fourth quarter. According to preliminary figures released by the group, revenues rose by 24% to some €360 million (previous year €290 million).
SHW states that the increase is attributable to a large number of production start-ups and the sales growth achieved by the company’s customers. “The fourth quarter of 2011 saw very dynamic growth in incoming orders as well. With this tailwind we can make a good start into the first quarter of 2012,” said Dr. Wolfgang Krause, CEO of SHW AG. “We are well positioned for the future, as our products essentially contribute to the necessary reduction of CO2 emissions of motor vehicles”.
The SHW Group’s Powder Metallurgy division produces pump cogwheels and other pump components (e.g., rotors and adjustment rings) for use in pumps for both automotive and Truck & Off-Highway applications. These components are used by the SHW Group for the production of its own pumps, but are also sold to other manufacturers.
Further, the SHW Group’s Powder Metallurgy division produces components for engines and gearboxes, such as components for the engine drive (belt and chain wheels), components for camshaft phasers (chain wheel, rotor, stator and signal transmitter disc) and camshafts, camshaft drive wheels, synchroniser hubs and cogwheels.
