Sandvik hosts gear summit
March 25, 2015
Sandvik hosted the first-ever Gear Summit in Sweden. The event, which took place from March 16-19, saw world-leading decision makers and experts in the gear industry meet to discuss common challenges and future gear manufacturing.
The Gear Summit 2015 provided the opportunity for the some 25 guests to participate in workshops, seminars and discussions on opportunities and threats for the gear industry, as well as future trends and solutions. New cutting technologies, states Sandvik, are about to transform the gear-manufacturing business and the event focused on this shift in technology, and how it will shape the future of the competitive landscape.
“Gear Milling is an area where Sandvik is a key player and we clearly set the industry standard. I believe this summit has been an important way for us to network and get a deeper understanding on common trends in our industry,” stated Kenneth Sundberg, Gear Manager, Gear Milling Solutions, Sandvik Coromant.
The main part of the event was held at the new Sandvik Coromant Center in Sandviken, but participants also visited the Sandvik HQ in Stockholm and the Sandvik Coromant site in Gimo.
