Registration opens for MPIF’s Basic PM Short Course 2020

Registration is now open for the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF)’s Basic PM Short Course 2020. The three-day course will once again be held at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel in State College, Pennsylvania, USA, from August 10–12, 2020.
This course offers a complete introduction to Powder Metallurgy, from powder production to component design and standards. As well as press and sinter PM, processes covered on the course include Metal Injection Moulding and metal Additive Manufacturing.
This year’s programme will focus on:
- History, current practice, and the future of the PM industry
- Why PM is a leading method for producing metal parts
- The many applications that use PM parts
- The finer points in designing for PM
- How metal powders are produced
- Designs for compacting tools
- How sintering develops functional properties
- Various secondary operations
- The Metal Powder Industries Federation material and test standards
- Metal Injection Moulding
- And the latest high-tech PM technologies, including metal Additive Manufacturing
