PowderMet2009 Las Vegas: Conference program now available

PM2009 Las Vegas News ImageThe program for the 2009 International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials (PowderMet2009) features more than 200 technical presentations in 46 technical sessions and six special interest programs. Sponsored by the Metal Powder Industries Federation and APMI International, the event will be held June 28–July 1 at The Mirage Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Authors from 31 countries will report on the latest developments in metal powders, powder metallurgy (PM) processes and products. International companies will display equipment and products at the concurrent trade exhibition. Metal injection molding (MIM) once again features strongly in this year’s program.

At the Opening General Session Sean McAlinden, Executive Vice president and Chief Economist, Center for Automotive Research, will deliver a timely address: “Tough Driving Ahead: the Future of the U.S. Automotive Market in the Next Decade.”

Other special events include the PM Industry Recognition Luncheon, presentation of the PM Design Excellence Awards and the annual State of the North American PM Industry report. The 50th anniversary of APMI International, the industry’s worldwide professional society, will be celebrated at the recognition luncheon on June 29.

The conference technical program committee is chaired by Thomas J. Jesberger, Chief Technical Officer, Abbott Furnace Company, and Stephen J. Mashl, Director of Engineering & Technology, Bodycote plc.
