Powder Metallurgy veteran Mike Jaffe dies

Myron I. Jaffe, better known as Mike, died on March 5, 2022, reports the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF). A veteran of the Powder Metallurgy industry, Jaffe was known for making important contributions to the sector and was widely recognised for his consulting work in research, process and product development, design, manufacturing and production.
Jaffe was a past president of MPIF and the Powder Metallurgy Parts Association. With over fifty years of dedicated service, instructing at the annual MPIF Basic PM Short Course, he was well-recognised as the “man with the popcorn press,” a demonstration press that illustrated particulate compaction. He also received the MPIF Distinguished Service to Powder Metallurgy Award in 1979.
