Pometon S.p.A., headquartered in Maerne, Venice, Italy, has added AlSl 316L and AlSl 304L stainless steel to its range of metal powders.

AlSl 316L is an austenitic steel powder with very low carbon content for applications where good formability must be coupled with excellent corrosion resistance. The material’s corrosion resistance is said to remain excellent in the presence of chloride ions and fairly good in the presence of weak solutions of reducing acids.

AlSl 304L is the most common austenitic stainless steel, noted for excellent corrosion resistance, ductility, formability and weldability. It can be used in applications from household appliances to tanks for chemical products, with temperatures ranging from cryogenic to 900ºC.

Pometon can produce and supply both of these powders with different particle size distribution, specific chemical compositions and mixed with different types of lubricants.
