PMG Group to build new PM plant in Shanghai

PMG China CGI..PMG Group is to build a new Powder Metallurgy (PM) plant in Shanghai, China, to fulfill customer demand for locally manufactured PM products. The company foundation took place on April 23, 2008 at the Shanghai Fengpu Industrial Park in the presence of the Provincial Minister. Mass production is scheduled to start by the end of 2008.

PMG Group’s President Masafumi Koga underlined the importance of PMG’s presence in China: “We strengthen our local activities to supply our global customers.” PMG will deliver sprockets to VW China, pulleys to INA and shock absorber parts to ZF Sachs. All customers are important players in the growing Chinese automobile industry. In total PMG invests 12 million euros in the new plant.

The PMG Group, a leading global supplier of powder metallurgical (PM) products for the automotive industry, has around 2,400 employees and annual sales of 340 million euros. It has eleven manufacturing plants and sales offices across Europe, America and Asia. PMG is a joint venture of the Mitsubishi Materials Corporation and the Austrian-based Plansee Group.
