July 25, 2011
North American Höganäs, a subsidiary of Höganäs Group, Sweden, has announced that completion of its $22 million expansion to increase metal powder production is expected early Q4, 2011.
Two major developments are underway to increase capacity for annealed atomised iron powders and stainless steel powders at its US production sites. New equipment installations will allow production to increase by around 30%.
Avinash Gore, President of North American Höganäs, stated “These investments will help North American Höganäs better serve our customers and prepare for the anticipated growth in the metal powder industry in the medium term. New capacities will also provide ample cushions to incorporate several new innovations of the Höganäs Group. These innovations are designed to make powdered metal alternatives more competitive globally.”
