China conference focuses on developments in PM and MIM

The “China 2012 PM Conference”, organised by Mate Consulting Ltd, took place from 8 – 10 November in Wuxi, China. The conference attracted more than 50 international participants from 30 different companies and 15 countries. Speakers from established companies and research institutions shared the latest Powder Metallurgy, Metal Injection Moulding and Hot Isostatic Pressing developments and market trends from China and overseas.

The conference began with a global review of Powder Metallurgy markets by Michael Godin, President of Mate Consulting. This was followed by a keynote lecture on mechanical presses and automation systems by Mr Shen from Ningbo Huizhong Ningbo Huizhong, one of China’s leading press manufacturers.

Dr Mohsin and Mr Ma from Elino Industrie-Ofenbau GmbH, the German furnace manufacturer, presented their debinding and sintering equipment for MIM. Additional presentations included automation for PM and MIM and how to analyse investment opportunities in PM.

The second day of the conference started with a keynote speech by Prof Seong Jin Park from Pohang University, South Korea. Prof Park gave an overview of Powder Injection Moulding and recent trends and developments in the industry. Wang Limin, CEO of Easyfashion Industry, a leading furnace and atomisation equipment manufacturer in China, presented various sintering furnaces and atomisation units that his company recently developed for international clients.

Germany’s LÖMI GmbH presented the advantages of solvent debinding and solvent debinding furnaces for MIM. Richard White and Justin Cheng from Sigmasoft presented MIM simulation software. Other presentations on Hot Isostatic Pressing, MIM powders and MIM binders were also given.

Michael Godin stated, “The China 2012 PM Conference was a great opportunity to network with potential customers and suppliers. We would like to thank all the participants for attending and we are looking forward to welcome participants from India and abroad at the sister event, the India 2012 PM Conference, New Delhi, India, 13-15 December 2012.”
