The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) has announced it will launch a new Club Project focussed on design for sintering and dealing with the anisotropy of dimensional changes. The project will be coordinated in partnership with the Department of Industrial Engineering at Italy’s University of Trento.

The project, open to members of the EPMA, aims to demonstrate the possibility to predict dimensional changes of real parts using the design methodology developed at the University of Trento.

The project also aims to stimulate interest in continuing the activity, within the framework of a further club project. The subsequent project would explore the variables affecting the anisotropy of dimensional changes by investigating the influence of the geometry of the parts, of the material, and of process conditions.

More information on the EPMA’s club projects can be found at www.epma.com/projects or contact Dr Olivier Coube, [email protected]
