New carbide grade for machining special metals
November 6, 2013
Carmex Precision Tools Ltd., based in Maalot, Israel, has developed a new ultra-fine, submicron cemented carbide grade designated HBA which the company states has been optimised for machining precision threads in hardened steel, cast iron up to 62 HRC, titanium alloys and nickel based superalloys.
Available for internal and external threading in both 60° and 55° partial profile, as well as ISO metric and UN, HBA is said to deliver high wear and heat resistance and excellent edge stability and was engineered to meet the challenges inherent in threading hard materials while delivering high production rates and longer tool life.
