The Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) has revealed the submissions for its 2018 PM Design Excellence Awards. The awards have run every year since 1965, and give parts fabricators among MPIF member companies the opportunity to submit components which they believe best showcase the possibilities achievable with Powder Metallurgy processes.

This year, the MPIF stated that it received forty-six PM components from twelve member companies representing seven market categories. The winners will be announced during the PM Design Excellence Awards Luncheon at POWDERMET2018, the International Conference on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials, June 17–20, 2018, San Antonio, Texas, USA.

The seven categories represented by the submissions are:

  • Automotive—Engine, Transmission, or Chassis
  • Lawn & Garden/Off-Highway
  • Hardware/Appliances
  • Aerospace/Military/Firearms
  • Electrical/Electronic
  • Hand Tools/Recreation
  • Medical/Dental

All submissions are now available to view online via the MPIF’s website.
