It has been reported that Miba plans to expand its site in McConnelsville, Morgan County, Ohio, USA. According to the Marietta Times, the company is in the process of expanding its Miba Sinter facility, creating 70 new jobs by 2015. Miba will also consolidate its North American back office support staff to a new service centre to be built in McConnelsville, creating a further 10 jobs by the end of 2014.
Miba is the largest manufacturing employer in Morgan County and currently employs around 500 people at its McConnelsville site. “Miba has been a wonderful, valued member of this community and everyone worked together to support strengthening their business in McConnelsville,” stated Mike Workman, Executive Director, Morgan County Improvement Corporation.
The expansion of the Miba Sinter facility will add around 3700 m2 (40,000 square feet) of manufacturing space. “It’s quite a deal for Morgan County and for southeastern Ohio to have such a high tech plant in the area,” added Workman.
The site in McConnelsville includes Miba Sinter and Miba Bearing divisions. “In 2013, the McConnelsville facility generated $27 million in sales. The building expansion is expected to bring an additional $50 million in sales over the next two to three years,” stated Shannon Wells, director of the Community and Business Development Office of Morgan County.
