Organisers of the Materials Science & Technology conference will be including a symposium on Powder Metallurgy at the 2012 event.

This symposium will address all aspects of powder metallurgy processing including powder making, powder characterization, manufacturing powder metal products, and product characteristics. The sessions that are dedicated to classical powder metallurgy will focus primarily on the products obtained by pressing, sintering, and metal injection moulding.

However, other methods of powder processing and product manufacturing will be also addressed including gas atomization and powder consolidation by hot isostatic pressing, forging and extrusion.

Special emphasis will be placed on advanced alloys designed for high performance applications and alloys designed for cladding and coatings using various techniques.

MS&T 2012  will take place in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, October 7-11 and anyone wishing to submit an abstract for inclusion in the symposium should do so by 15th March 2012 via the abstract submisson website here.
