Management changes at Atomising Systems
October 23, 2012
Atomising Systems Limited (ASL) has announced that Dirk Aderhold has been appointed Technical Director of the company. Aderhold, who had been Technical Manager since 2004, joined ASL with the specific aim of succeeding John Dunkley, the founder and retiring Technical Director. Dunkley will become Chairman.
Atomising Systems Ltd, based in Sheffield, UK, specialises in the technology of powder or granule production by the atomisation of melts. The company manufactures a wide range of atomisers for use in the Powder Metallurgy industry.
“I was so busy on our new project that my 65th birthday passed almost unnoticed, but now I am 66, and we are nearly settled into our new premises, it is time to pass on the baton to Dirk, who has proved the ideal man to succeed me as Technical Director,” stated Dunkley.
“Dirk is a German-trained chemical engineer and Dipl. Ing. and joined us after a very successful nine years in advanced process engineering. He has now gained extensive experience both of atomisation R&D and of commissioning a variety of ASL’s metal powder production plants in many countries, including China, South Africa and Austria. He has already developed some excellent new technologies for us.”
ASL highlighted that this continues the succession plan which included Simon Dunkley, formerly responsible for finance, taking on the position of Managing Director in January 2010. Since this appointment the company has been intensely busy, including moving its entire operation to a 3,000 sq.m factory in Sheffield.
