Magnetic Materials and Applications seminar to be held in Lucerne, Switzerland

The UK Magnetics Society’s two day seminar, Magnetic Materials and Applications, is scheduled to take place in Lucerne, Switzerland, October 28-29, 2014. An international list of speakers has been confirmed and delegates will have the chance to visit Arnold Magnetic Technology’s site in Lupfig, Switzerland.

This seminar will continue the European vein of events the Society has run over recent years, such as Vacuumschmelze in Hanau, Germany, and Aalborg University in Denmark. The seminar will bring together leading speakers from both industry and academia to report on the latest developments and trends in technology.

The seminar will be held in the Ameron Hotel in Lucerne. Speakers currently include:

  • Urs Wyss, Arnold Magnetic Technologies – SmCo Material Development
  • Hartmut Pagel, Magsys – Magnetiser and Magnetiser Coil Design

  • Christof Zwyssig, Celeroton – High Speed Machines
  • Magali Chaussin-Marchand, Cooltech – Magnetic Refrigeration
  • Juergen Konrad, Dickow Pumpen – Shaped Field Magnets
  • Pierre Thonet, CERN – Permanent Magnet Systems
  • Lars Hultman, Höganäs AB, Glynn Atkinson, Newcastle University – Manufacturing for High Volume / Low Cost
