Linde AG and Praxair, Inc. in merger talks

Linde AG and Praxair, Inc. have confirmed that the two companies are in preliminary talks regarding a potential merger. Discussions are reported as being ongoing and as yet have not resulted in any definitive results or agreements.
In the 2015 financial year the Linde Group generated revenue of EUR 17.944 billion, making it one of the leading gases and engineering companies in the world. The company has approximately 65,000 employees working in more than 100 countries worldwide.
Praxair, Inc., a Fortune 300 company with sales of $11 billion in 2015, is a leading industrial gas company in North and South America and one of the largest worldwide with 26,000 employees in more than 50 countries. The company produces, sells and distributes atmospheric, process and specialty gases and high-performance surface coatings.
