Increase in aluminium powder production at Rusal
November 7, 2012
Rusal, Russia’s largest producer of aluminium powder, has reported a 29.4% increase in the production of powder products in the first half of 2012, compared to the same period in 2011.
The company states that much of the growth was achieved through a modernisation program launched in 2011 at three sites, SUAL-Powder Metallurgy in Shelekhov, Krasnoturinsk and Volgograd.
Rusal plans to further upgrade its powder production facility in 2012-2013, and will begin production of new grades of hydrophilic aluminium pastes and powders for the construction industry in 2013-2014.
The modernisation will see aluminium powders, hydrophilic powder and paste with performance characteristics equivalent to leading international manufacturers. “We strive to pay special attention to the development of production and the improvement of our own technology base”, stated Evgeny Ovchinnikov, commercial director of Rusal.
