Impact Coatings AB, Linkoping, Sweden, recently participated in the 24-Hour Hydrogen Challenge, September 28–29, 2020,  a rally for fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) which aims to demonstrate the feasibility of hydrogen-fuelled vehicles and availability of hydrogen fuelling stations. The rally was held in conjunction with the Stuttgart f-cell conference.

Sandvik sponsored Impact Coatings’ participation in the race, where its team drove a Hyundai NEXO. During the 24-hour rally the car visited hydrogen and fuel cell industry players in Southern Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Participation in the competition was coordinated with a charity fundraiser, with the €6,000 raised being donated in full to the World Childhood Foundation. Besides Sandvik, Impact Coatings was also sponsored by Hyundai Motor Company, Nilsson Energy, Gränges, Vätgas Sverige, NEL. Vattenfall and Cell Impact.

The co-drivers in the Impact Coatings car were Will Wright, VP Sales Impact Coatings, and Alx Danielsson, former F1 test driver and motor-sports commentator on Eurosport.
