Honda sets record monthly auto production levels

Honda Motor Co Ltd, Japan, has announced that its overseas automobile production set a new monthly record in October 2015, totalling some 338,331 units, up 3.6% on the same month in 2014. However, production in Japan for the month of October 2015 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the 15th consecutive month (since August 2014), at 75,448 units.
Leading the company to report its record production in regions outside of Japan was Asia, in particular China which alone reported a 31.9% increase year-on-year (89,094 units) for October. In total, Asia accounted for production of 150,317 units, up 18.4%. Europe produced 8,841 units in the month, up 32.7%, with North America reporting 163,447 units, down 8.5% year on year. Other regions totalled 15,726, up 9.2% year-on-year.
