Swedish metal powder producer Höganäs AB has recently been promoting Powder Metallurgy (PM) technology at a number of events in India.
Beginning with ‘PM Gear Day’ on February 5th, Höganäs presented PM gear technology to some 70 participants from OEMs, system suppliers and component manufacturers. Presentations included current and potential future gear applications.
“The reaction from the automotive industry was very positive. There seems to be a general openness to and interest in working with PM gear technology,” stated Mahesh Nipanikar, Manager Application Support and Technology at Höganäs India.
The following day Höganäs hosted a PoP Seminar. Around 150 participants took part in the programme which included information about the global Powder Metallurgy industry, development trends and conversion opportunities.
Höganäs were also present at PM-2013 Conference and Exhibition in Pune, India, February 7th- 9th. The annual three day conference and exhibition organised by the PMAI once again attracted a good flow of visitors, mainly from the Powder Metallurgy industry. When asked what generated the highest level of interest in the Höganäs stand, Nipanikar replied, “PM gears, without a doubt.”
