The International HIP Committee (IHC) has announced that the next International HIP Conference will be held in Stockholm, Sweden from June 9 -13, 2014.

This triennial conference, organised by the IHC, will focus on trends, developments and innovations in the field of hot isostatic pressing (HIP) technology and will cover topics such as material development, production of near net shape (NNS) components, part design and process modelling. Aspects related to Powder Metallurgy processing, diffusion bonding and part densification will also be included.

HIP technology has established itself in the past decades as a competitive and proven manufacturing process for the production of complex and massive components made from a wide range of metals. These components are currently being used in highly demanding environments within the aerospace, oil and gas, power generation, medical and tooling industries.

The IHC was formed in 1991 at a HIP conference in Osaka, Japan, with the primary objective of organising HIP specific conferences. In 2014 selected IHC members and local industry leaders will team with Jernkontoret, the Swedish Steelmaking Association, to organize HIP ’14.  A formal call for papers will be issued shortly.
