February 19, 2013
GKN Sinter Metals has announced that its production facility in Bad Brückenau, Germany, has delivered its fifty millionth synchroniser hub.
Synchroniser hubs are the core product for the shifting mechanism in all double clutch and manual transmissions. For over 20 years GKN Sinter Metals has specialised in precision synchroniser hubs made by conventional Powder Metallurgy technology, which has proven to be the premier solution for this transmission component and has facilitated improvements in performance while also reducing weight.
“Our ability to produce high quality parts for this period of time shows that our employees pride themselves on the work they do and strive to not only meet but exceed our customers’ requirements,” stated Stefan Zeier, Plant Manager of the Bad Brückenau plant.
GKN also produces synchroniser hubs in its facilities in Danyang (China) Hortolandia (Brazil) and Pimpri (India).
