2012 in Berlin

As in previous years GKN Sinter Metals participated in the CWIEME exhibition, taking place in Berlin, June 26 – 28, 2012. CWIEME Berlin is the world’s largest Coil Winding, Insulation and Electrical Manufacturing trade show with more than 650 companies in over 400 different exhibition stands and visitors from nearly 100 different countries.

GKN Sinter Metals displayed a selection of bearings, porous metals filters, metal injection moulding (MIM) and other conventional PM parts in their booth. Of particular interest was a display of GKN’s soft magnetic composite (SMC) components. Among them were serial stator parts for axial flux e-pumps and inductive elements like SMC housings for smoothing coils used in e-cars and other Green technology applications such as wind power and solar energy plants.

In these application fields GKN Sinter Metals reports that it is succeeding in gradually optimising the magnetic, electrical and mechanical properties of the final products and is able to offer an increased energy-efficient product manufacture via PM.

The company also exhibited at ACHEMA 2012, the world’s largest exhibition and congress on chemical engineering, environmental protection and biotechnology. The five day trade show, which took place in Frankfurt, Germany, 18-22 June 2012, recorded more than 167,000 visitors and 3,773 exhibitors.

GKN Sinter Metals Filters has been exhibiting at ACHEMA since 1973 and introduced two new developments at this year’s show, the TSF (Total Surface Filtration Media) and the Metal Sponge. “Both products made a great impression as well as our SIKA-R IS/AS Products, which caught the audience´s attraction as usual”, stated GKN.

GKN Sinter Metals will be exhibiting at other ‘end-user’ events this year, including:
