GKN Sinter Metals Emporium plant wins community award

GKN Sinter Metals Emporium, located in Pennsylvania, USA, has been named as one of region’s leading businesses thanks to its outstanding community efforts.
As part of the Governor’s ImPAct Award, the GKN Emporium facilities won the Community Impact category for making positive contributions in their local area. The awards ceremony took place in Hershey, PA, with more than 700 business leaders from throughout the state in attendance.
Governor Tom Corbett stated, “Today, we honour the men and women who spend countless hours providing the leadership and care that it takes to run a successful and growing business. This recognition goes beyond the contributions made to Pennsylvania’s diverse and vibrant economy. Today, we celebrate Pennsylvanians who embody the American dream by taking risks, working hard and achieving success.”
Emporium was recognised for its commitment to give back to the local community. As the largest employer in the county, GKN states that it takes great pride in supporting the county through employment opportunities and the sponsoring of community activities, primarily through their Hearts of Gold Program.
Renee McKimm, Senior Human Resource Manager, added “I am very proud to accept the award on behalf of GKN and the Emporium employees. This is a great recognition to our employees of their commitment of giving back to the local community in which we operate, they continue to embrace and support all the local initiatives to support the community.”
