GKN Sinter Metals in Danyang, China, has been named as ‘2006-2010 Top Business Partner’ by GETRAG (Jiangxi) Transmission Co., Ltd (GJT) at its 10-year anniversary ceremony which was held in November 2016 in Nanchang. Lee Sun (Vice President GKN Sinter Metals China) accepted the award on behalf of GKN Sinter Metals.

GETRAG (Jiangxi) Transmission Co., Ltd is a joint venture of GETRAG (Germany) and Jiangling Motor Groups Company (China). GJT is a market leader of advanced manual and automatic transmission products in China and has been working with GKN since its foundation. In the past ten-years’ cooperation GKN Danyang has been awarded many times by GJT with Excellent Supplier Award, CEO Special Award and zero PPM Award.

GKN Danyang delivers over 800,000 synchroniser hubs every year and over 450,000 DCT300 pumps will be delivered from its Yizheng plant to GJT in 2017.

“We are very honoured to have received this 10-year award which is GJT’s recognition of our long-term strategic partnership. In the next three years, Getrag will become the biggest customer for GKN Sinter Metals in China due to the increasing pump business and GKN will always be the biggest PM supplier for Getrag in China,” Lee Sun says.

GKN’s facility in Danyang was established in 2006 and supplies automotive customers in China with large sintered parts in the engine and transmission sector while its Yizheng facility provides smaller sintered parts manufactured up to 150 ton press force.

GKN Sinter Metals China has gainned market share on a year-over- year basis and is among the top five suppliers to the Chinese automotive Powder Metallurgy market.
